Julie Haase’s journey is defined by her unwavering devotion to her daughter, Shelby. From the very beginning, Shelby’s life has been a testament to resilience. Born with Down syndrome, she faced immediate medical challenges, including time in intensive care and major heart surgery within her first year.
But the greatest challenge came just before her second birthday—when Shelby was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
What followed was a journey no family is ever prepared for: months of treatment, long hospital stays, and the emotional weight of uncertainty. Through it all, Julie remained Shelby’s anchor—steady, strong, and unwavering.
And Shelby fought with remarkable courage.
Their story is not only one of survival—but of love, connection, and resilience.
